A Few Great Men

A Few Great Men………..

By Midvale School Superintendent KyLee Morris

November is the month designated for giving thanks.  As I sit in my new office and listen to the animated sound of students changing classes in the spacious hallways, I recognize that we have so much to be grateful for.  I believe recognition and a long overdue thank you needs to be given to seven gentlemen who have given the Midvale School District a tremendous gift.  In 2013, having a new secondary school was just a dream inspired by a generous donation of a steel building from Rob and Nancy Roberts of R&M steel.  In partnership with Superintendent Jim Warren, trustees Steve Sutton, Jerry Lunsford, Dan Uhlenkott, Jerry Piper, Brain Graham, and Jake Mikek have traversed an arduous journey to ensure that seemingly unlikely dream became a reality.  It was a venture that proved the old adage that nothing worth having ever comes easy.  Bolstered by the community’s support of a passed levy in 2016, we can fast forward to present day and celebrate the fact that we just completed our twelfth week of classes in our new secondary facility!

In designation of this month, thank you to the community and patrons of Midvale for recognizing the need for a new facility and passing the levy.  Thank you to Rob and Nancy Roberts for your generous donation.  And finally, an immense depth of gratitude for these seven gentlemen who have always worked diligently to put the needs of our students first and foremost in the district’s operations.  In a time where so much has been asked of schools and their board of trustees, I feel a great appreciation for the counsel I receive from these individuals.  Thank you not only for the building we occupy today, but for the leadership and unwavering commitment you all have shown to our district.
