A Home And 60 Acres Burn, Possible Cause Is Fireworks

The Weiser Area Rural Fire Department was dispatched at 11:58 PM July 4, 2021 to a brush fire behind 1492 Weiser River Road. The fire spread through dry brush and burned down a woman’s home. Many other homes were at risk, but were saved by multiple agencies responding to mutual aide calls. The Weiser City, Midvale, Payette Rural, New Plymouth, Sandhollow Fire Departments responded to give mutual aide. Sandhollow brought their bulldozer and cut a fire line. A BLM crew arrived to give assistance too. The cause and origin of the fire is being investigated by the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s office.
