The 2017 Idaho-Oregon Border College Fair will be held at Four Rivers Cultural Center (676 Southwest 5th Avenue) in Ontario on Tuesday, October 31 from 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. This year marks the 30th anniversary of this highly successful college fair. All students, grades 9-12, and any college students are welcome to attend on this date.
The fair will feature over 60 tables with representatives from colleges, technical schools, military, and other career opportunities. Also, there will be information sessions offered at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, and 1:00 o’clock. At each time slot, four sessions will be offered covering topics such as Financial Aid and FAFSA, Finding Scholarships, Participating in College Athletics, Professional-Technical Schools, CAMP and Migrant Scholarship Programs, and ACT/SAT, as well as others. Door prizes winners will be announced throughout the fair, and ten $200 scholarships will be given out to seniors who attend the fair.
Last year, over 1,200 students attended the college fair. It is organized by counselors from Adrian, Nyssa, Ontario, Vale, Fruitland, Payette, Weiser, and Parma, who feel the fair has been very successful in connecting students with post-secondary opportunities.
