I’m loving this fall weather we have been having.  I do think Fall is my favorite time of year.  Of course if you ask me in six months, I might say Spring, As I really like all of them, just for different reasons.
After driving home from my other job on Sunday, I think I had better start boning up on winter driving again.  The snow was really coming down in blizzard like fashion from up on Hwy 71 to Cambridge.  When I lost some altitude, It was more like heavy rain. But for a few minutes, it was a little bit nerve racking.
Today is the 6th of November, so there is only one month left before we raffle off the 4 quarters of beef.  Will you be one of the four winners?  You can be, but only if you purchase raffle tickets.  They are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.  Kermit Wiggins, the gentleman and member responsible for this fund raiser said that this beef is going to run heavier than the beef’s of previous years, which means that there will be more meat in each quarter.  If you haven’t bought your tickets or if you would like to purchase a few more, give me a call here at the senior center and I will make sure to get some sent out to you.  That number is 208-257-3358.
Our next board meeting is this Wednesday, November 8th.  If you have been pondering over whether you would like to be considered for one of the vacant board seats, ,now is the time to let someone know of your intentions.  You can call me here at the center or let Pat Davenport, 208-355-3525, know.
I will be getting the ballots ready for this year’s Annual Meeting on December 6th.  Please mark your calendars and  come to that meal as we need as many members as possible there to conduct the business of voting for your new board.  Most meetings don’t take that long, so it’s not as if you will be here for hours after lunch, maybe just an extra 10 - 15 minutes at most.    It’s your center, and your votes determine who will be handling the business of running the center.  So your votes are important.
Tuesday, November 14 is the next day we will be shopping in Ontario.  The signup sheet is on the front table.  If you want to go with us, just add your name to the list.  The bus leaves around 8 AM.  If I had Tuesdays off, I would certainly go, but I do, so I can’t.   Oh well, what’s a girl to do?
This Friday, November 10th we’re having Ham and beans, corn bread, salad, peaches and dessert.  On Wednesday, November 15th  the menu for lunch is Roast Beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, carrots salad and Rhubarb dessert.  On Friday, November 17th right before our Thanksgiving meal, Ursula is making her fabulous Pizza’s, along with salad, pears and dessert.
Wednesday November 15th is also our Food Pantry Day.  As always, I don’t have a clue as to what we will be getting, but none the less, that is the day.  This month’s foot clinic will be held on Monday, November 27th.  If you need to have your toenails trimmed, give me a call here at the center.  208-257-3358.
That’s it for another week.  Until next time, have a great week, and think about getting your winter tires on your vehicles.  It looks like winter may be early this year!
