I’m sure you were confused to find my column missing from the paper last week. Obviously, I didn’t get it sent in time to print. Sorry, sometimes my life is in a kerfuffle and things just slip through the cracks. I comfort myself with the knowledge that in the 15 years that I have been writing this column, there are very few that I have missed. So please forgive this old woman’s mistake.
We held our Beef Raffle drawing on Wednesday, December 6th and the following local people won: Lyle Sall, Bub and Kathey Mott, Dinah Wells and David Coates. Congratulations to all of you. When we called to pick up the beef it wasn’t quite ready, so as soon as it’s frozen, we will get it out to you sometime this week or next.
I would like to thank Kermit Wiggins, who each year locates a beef, feeds it out and delivers it for slaughter so we can have a successful fund raiser.
This year, it was the Seid Ranch that donated the steer and we are so grateful to them for this generous donation.
And, last but not least we thank those of you who purchased tickets for a chance to win, without you, it wouldn’t have been a fund raiser at all. And, just so you know, we do appreciate all of the support we receive from our community for all of our fund raisers. You are truly a blessing to the senior center.
At our Annual Meeting which was held on the same day as the drawing, the membership voted in Kay Van Order and Lynda Yoder as our new board members. Congratulations to you both, I look forward to working with you for the next three years.
Monday, December 18th will be the date of our next foot clinic. There are still appointments open, so give me a call @ 208-257-3358 and I will get you signed up.
On Wednesday, December 13th we are serving, Roast pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, applesauce, salad, beets and blueberry crisp. Friday, December 15th we are serving Chili con Carne, corn bread, salad, peaches and dessert.
On Wednesday, December 20th we are having our Christmas dinner of roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, rolls, green beans, fruit salad and pumpkin pie. That will also be the date of our Food Pantry. There will be turkey’s or turkey breasts to distribute that day so join us for our holiday meal and stay for the pantry @ two O’clock. Then, on Friday, December 22nd, we are serving everyone’s favorite, Pizza with salad, pears and dessert.
Oh, one last thing. We are stuffing bags for the kids Christmas program this Wednesday, December 13th. It would really help if you could stay for a few minutes to help with this task for the school Christmas program. Thank you to the Cuddy Mountain Ramblers who donated $75 to help us pay for the treats the kids will receive. We at seniors appreciate the help.
It’s time to get this column sent out. Have a great week everyone!
