On December eleventh Officer Deliane Singleton was promoted to Sergeant at the monthly City Council meeting. Sergeant Singleton began his law enforcement career as a Weiser Reserve in  2010. When asked why he wanted to join law enforcement he stated, “It is a family tradition and I enjoy helping my community.”

Sergeant Singleton joined the Weiser Police Department full time in September of 2011. He has held positions of potroleman, field training officer, and is currently incharge of the Weiser Reserves and maintains the department's Facebook page. Sergeant Singleton's wife Sarah was able to pin his sergeant's badge on him at the meeting in front of friends, family, fellow officers, and the City Council.

Sergeant Singleton takes the Sergeant position left open from the empty place Officer Val Blevins left when he became the Weiser school district School Resource Officer. Chief of Police Carl Smith stated, “We were looking to fill the Sergeant's position and we did some testing. Delaine finished on top.”
