The Weiser Recreation Department and the WHS Wrestling program would like to announce the start of the 2018 youth wrestling program. Registration this year will happen on January 16th at the Auxiliary gym at the high school. Registration times are 1st grade through 5th grade 6:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. 6th grade though 8th grade 7:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.
There are going to be some changes to the wrestling program this year. Youth wrestlers will no longer be able to participate in weekend wrestling tournaments unless they are signed up through IDAWAY is a youth wrestling sponsored program that will provider liability insurance for your child for a fee of $34.00. With this fee your child will receive a card that will allow them to participate in scheduled IDAWAY wrestling tournaments.
If you are interested in signing up for IDAWAY, please let the wrestling coaches know during the youth recreation process. Coaches want to help parents sign up and get all wrestlers on the same "team".
Registration fees are as follows:
If your child wants to participate only Tuesday and Thursday practices, the fee will be $25.00 per child. This fee includes a t-shirt.
If your child is signed up for the IDAWAY youth wrestling program, the registration fee will be 15.00 per child for the wrestling program, along with a $34.00 fee for IDAWAY.
We encourage parents to please come to the registration times. This will give the wrestling coaches the opportunity to answer any questions you may have. The wrestling coaches would like to remind parents that sign up for IDAWAY that they are not responsible for the coaching of your child during the tournaments. They will help when available, but it is the parent's responsibility to coach their own child.
If you have any questions, please contact Drew Dickerson at the High School at 414-2595, or call the recreation department at 414-0301
