What a glorious morning! The sun is shining, the snow is almost gone and the mud is drying up! I don’t know how this early spring type weather is going to affect the farmers and ranchers; it probably isn’t a good thing, but I’m sure liking it. The Marmot, back east, named Phil predicted six more weeks of winter, so there is still a chance of more moisture on the horizon; all is not lost.
We have four more days until the Baked Potato Bar, Bake Sale and silent auction. It’s all happening on Friday, February 9th from 5 to 7 PM. You are welcome to come in anytime before to walk through and view/bid the silent auction items. They are set up in the back room. There are many interesting items, here is a listing of a few of them: Beaded Bag, Storage Organizer Kit, Handmade Lariat bowl, Denim Back pack/purse, mini food chopper, sleeping bag, rice cooker and many others.
Silent auctions are fun in that you can take your time and if you see something that strikes your fancy, you write down your bid on the accompanying sheet with each item. You can check your item(s) as many times as you like to see if you still have the top bid. I like the idea that it’s at a more leisurely pace than regular auctions, hopefully you will too.
Homemade desserts will be for sale throughout the dinner until they are gone. The cost of the dinner is $7 and you can eat all you like. Come join us!
If you haven’t yet paid your 2018 dues, there is no time like the present. It helps if you can either mail in the forms you were sent or drop them by the center. It’s especially important if any of your information has changed i.e., moved, new phone number etc. Thank you, to those of you who have already paid your dues, we appreciate you.
