April 15th is fast approaching.  It is time again to apply for your Property Tax Reduction, (Circuit Breaker).  Those who have applied in the past have recently received an application.  Please fill out the application and return the application with all pertinent information.  You must provide proof of income and bring in your medical expenses.  If you need assistance in completing the forms please bring the application into the Assessors office and we would be happy to help you.  If you are a new applicant please come in to the office and we will assist you with your application.  

You must meet one of the following qualifications to be eligible for the Property Tax Reduction:

    65 years of age or older
    Widow or widower 
    Former Prisoner of War    
    Blind
    Recognized as disabled
    Child under 18 years of age without father or mother
    Your property must be owner occupied before April 16, 2018.  A deceased owner’s widow or widower may file a claim.

If you qualify, the property taxes on your home and up to one acre of land may be reduced by as much as $1,320.  If you have any questions or are in doubt as to your qualifications please do not hesitate to contact our office.  (208-414-2000) Your application must be in our office by April 17, 2018.
