Trombonist Bill Watrous (pictured) is coming to Weiser later this month to perform in a concert to be held Weiser High School. The concert will take place at 8:00PM on April 27th. Doors open at 7:30.
Watrous is a veteran of the big bands of Quincy Jones, Maynard Ferguson,
Johnny Richards, and Woody Herman, as well as the live band for TV host Merv Griffin's talk show; the jazz-rock group Ten Wheel Drive; and his own big band, the Manhattan Wildlife Refuge. He'll perform in Weiser with the Weiser High School Jazz Band and Fruitland High School Jazz Band. Mr. Watrous will perform a full set with the Treasure Valley Swing Band as well.
General admission tickets are $7 for adults, free for students, and can be purchased at the door. Proceeds will be used to cover the cost of bringing Mr. Watrous out. Remaining funds will be split between the band programs.
More information will be posted to the Treasure Valley Swing Band’s facebook page, found at www.facebook.com/TVSwingband.
