In the most recent Legislative session, a proposed bill was drafted to help curb domestic violence in Idaho. It did not pass out of the House of Representatives by a vote of 39-31. What a travesty! This bill would have matched the federal law and anyone convicted of domestic violence would not be allowed to possess a gun for 2 YEARS and would have given law enforcement the authority to enforce the ban.
Contrary to what some political groups would have you think, the person convicted of domestic violence would not lose their ability to own a gun forever. These groups have also targeted some representatives who are currently running for office as being anti-gun. Unbelievable!
I want to publically thank Rep. Ryan Kerby for his support of this proposed bill and his stand against domestic violence. I urge you to support Rep. Kerby and all of the 31 representatives who stood for the right to be protected from domestic violence!
