To the Editor:
Mr. Evans letter on the sales tax was correct if a new state law repealed all sales tax on groceries. However, other states have reduced the sales tax and its impact on working families and retired persons by lowering the rate.
In Idaho if a new law lowered the rate to 3%, it would provide some state tax relief to the inflation caused by large oil corporations big price increases in gas and diesel fuel, and the increases in assessed values that may lead to higher property taxes.
Should the Federal tax on fuels be suspended and/or regulated during the Russian War against Ukraine?
Every voter should consider how its present U, S. Senator, Congress person, and State Senator and state House member will vote? For Fair Taxes or not?
