Lions Dist. Governor, Betty Simpson, Presents Donation to AWN

Today, at the office of Angel Wings Network, Inc in Weiser, Lions 39W District Governor, Betty Simpson, presented a donation of $200.00 to the Board Vice Chairperson Jill Linder. The check was donated by the Caldwell Lions Club. Present to witness and share their thanks was Board Secretary Carie Lawrence and board member Cindy Shaw.

The Caldwell Lions Club, as part of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), help provide support for children and families affected by childhood cancer among many other community-based endeavors. The mission of the Lions is to serve through valuable time and effort to help improve the communities they live in and around the world.

According to the Lions Club website, more than 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. In an effort to improve survival rates, support children and families, and improve the difficult experience of cancer treatments, the Caldwell Lion Club decided to contribute to the mission of Angel Wings Network, Inc, where volunteers serve community members with cancer of all ages, including children with cancer. “Childhood cancer is one of the five Lions International global causes,” shared Simpson.

“It is an honor to receive this generous donation from the Lions Club of Caldwell. We have had three children with cancer that we’ve served in the last year. $200 makes a difference in providing support and resources to the families of these precious children,” shared board secretary.
