Lois Lorene Clement Jones

Services for Lois Jones, 97, Weiser & Cambridge, who died Monday, May 8, 2017 at her home in Weiser will be conducted on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cambridge Cemetery.
Lois was born February 15, 1920, daughter of Ruth & Hoyt Clement.  She was raised and educated at Weiser.  She married Chester Delos Jones on May 27, 1939 at Payette. They farmed on Mann Creek and then Lois became a war wife while Chet served in the U.S. Army.  Upon his return & working for the City of Weiser, they moved to Longview Washington before moving to Cambridge in 1953. This was home.
Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cambridge, where she was honored as Mother of the Year and the Church of the Redeemer in Weiser.  She volunteered at the Weiser hospital knitting hats for newborns, at her Church making caps for the homeless, serving at Senior Citizens all the while enjoying lunch with her Red Hat gals.  Lois was a 60 yr. member of the Loyaute #19 Order of the Eastern Star and traveled with friends to various States with visitations which gave her great pleasure meeting new people making a lot of wonderful friends. She served as Worthy Matron while in Cambridge and then accepted various offices with the Grand Chapter of the OES.  She loved knitting & crocheting for each of her grandchildren & grandbabies, dancing to a jitterbug or great waltz and could tell a good story. In her 97 years, she thought that sending a man into space was the most memorable event only second to World War II. She lived her life adventurously and always with a plan for tomorrow.
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Maryann (Mike) Ryals, Eagle and Marilyn(David) Grothaus, Weiser; grandchildren, Robert Hosier (Lewiston), Doug(Daffany) Hosier Fairbanks, AK., Steve (Katie)Hosier, Montpelier, Susan(Scott)Elkington, Cambridge, Christine Grothaus, Weiser, Kirk(Heather) Grothaus, Weiser,  Lonnie Grothaus, Weiser; 15 great grandchildren & 3 great, great grandchildren , neice Joan Wilkerson & nephews Ron Sale & Rick Sale and her beloved friend & pet, “Maggie”. 
 Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chet, 1 infant daughter, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Charles & Nita Sale, & companion Dick Decoito.
The family suggest Memorials be sent to a Charity of your choice.
