Virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences. COVID-19 Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today Governor Little moved Idaho back to Stage 3 of Idaho Rebounds in an effort to slow the transmission of COVID-19 throughout the State.

The Weiser School District has parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, October 28 th and 29 th . In an effort to reduce the number of people visiting each of our buildings and personal contacts for school staff, we are encouraging parents and guardians to participate in virtual conferences with teachers whenever possible this fall. Please consider contacting your child’s teacher(s) in order to schedule a Zoom meeting, phone call, email correspondence, or other if at all possible. Meeting times at the elementary schools are scheduled and are easily accommodated. Conferences for students at WHS and WMS will be more challenging due to the number of conferences that need to be held. However, we encourage you to contact your child’s teacher(s) through email or call the school in order to schedule a virtual appointment or receive a phone call. We will still continue to hold in-person conferences if they are necessary for you.

Additionally, the move to Stage 3 of Idaho Rebounds creates limitations for gatherings, including gatherings for events such as sporting events. Governor Little’s Order limits indoor events to a maximum of 50 spectators, and outdoor events to 25% of the capacity of the venue. Physical distancing will be required for all non family members at events. We will be working to establish protocols for limiting spectators at Weiser events while we are in Stage 3. Fruitland High School is forced to limit the number of spectators allowed at Friday night’s football game. WHS will send out a press release as soon as details are made available.

I realize that COVID-19 continues to impact our daily lives. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to address the challenges created by the pandemic.

Respectfully,
Wade Wilson, Superintendent
