Weiser Was Well Represented At Treasure Valley Honor Meet 2021

14 members of the WHS choirs and 2 members of the WHS band performed at the Treasure Valley Honor Meet on November 18th.

To secure a spot in these groups, Weiser high school musicians auditioned against students from schools around the Treasure Valley and McCall.

Rehearsals were held on Monday nights for three weeks and there were two all day rehearsals at NNU on the 17th and 18th of November where our students were led by Dr. Cory Evans, director of choirs at Utah State University and Dr. Marcellus Brown, the director of bands at Boise State University.

The concert on the 18th was the culmination of their efforts. Weiser had more singers in the choir than any other 3A or smaller school. In addition, Emma Tolman and Roma Walker were selected as soloists and Peter McKenna was chosen to play the ngoma, an authentic South African drum.

Both honor groups gave fantastic performances and our WHS musicians are now able to bring those experiences and lessons learned back to their groups at home.
