The Weiser Chamber & Community Helps Support Local Softball Teams

By Rachal Messersmith

The Weiser Chamber of Commerce held their annual Crab Feed and Auction Saturday, April 1st. The Proceeds from the event go to support various community initiatives and events. The Annual Crab Feed and Auction hosted hundreds of community members.

For this year’s event the Weiser Chamber had the Weiser High Softball team and the Washington County Warriors Softball U12 – U16 youth serve the food, help in the kitchen, and clean up after the event. In doing this the teams were able to earn tips to help fund various needs for their teams.  Coach, and Chamber of Commerce board member, Crystal Torres, said, “The Weiser High School softball program and the Washington County Warriors would like to thank you for the opportunity to conduct this fundraiser at the Annual Crab Feed. The funds raised will go towards entry fees into tournaments, equipment, and so much more. The Warriors program depends on the support of our community and the hard work of our U12 and U16 softball girls. They are never afraid of hard work and always represent our community, supporting them at the highest level on and off the field.”

Weiser Chamber strives to support local businesses, organizations and the local school district. This year the teams did a phenomenal job and our community members were generous in their tipping. The teams were able to raise a total of $1,711.
