3 Individuals Rescued in Remote Payette County

Payette, Idaho – On July 5th at approximately 03:00 am three individuals were rescued from a remote area of Payette County. On the night of July 4th, the Payette County Dispatch Center
received a call at 10:30 pm requesting assistance for three people who had wrecked their UTV. The accident occurred in the area of Dry Creek Road and Little Willow Road when their UTV overturned after the occupants attempted to climb a steep hill. One of the patients was ejected. Due to the remote country with steep terrain, locating the individuals and getting them medical aid was a difficult task. Air St. Lukes was able to land a medical unit in proximity of the patients at approximately 03:00 am. Air St. Lukes then transported two individuals with critical injuries, the third occupant was transported out by UTV. At this time, the status of all patients is unknown.The Payette County Sheriff’s Office was able to successfully locate the individuals with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Payette Police Department, Payette Rural Fire Department, New Plymouth Rural Fire Department, Sand Hollow Rural Fire Department, and Air St. Lukes.The Payette County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the cooperation of all emergency response units that helped make this rescue a success.
