3rd Grade Weiser History Walking Tour

Weiser- Thursday, October 10th Weiser’s Pioneer Elementary third grade students took a walking tour of Weiser’s historic buildings. Students were able to see and hear about the history of Weiser, from its original location to its current. Students were able to see and learn about Weiser’s historic Train Depot, Pythian Castle, Star Theater, Washington County Courthouse and many other local buildings, including historic homes.

Pictured above is former school teacher, Julie Chandler, standing in front  of the Weiser Train Depot sharing with students the rich history of the depot and other historic significant facts about Weiser. Chandler was the creator of this now, long time tradition of educating local third graders on Weiser’s history and the annual walking tour for the youth.

If interested, the Weiser Architectural Preservation Committee and Snake River Heritage Center is putting on a Weiser History Walking Tour this Saturday, October 12th. Check the flier below for tickets and availability.
