Weiser, Idaho- In the last year the City of Weiser along with other organizations have been working hard to gather grants and other funding to make some big changes to Weiser Memorial Park. With the community’s input and staying within the stipulations of each grant the City was able to purchase new and safer playground equipment and add covered eating areas for the community’s use. Recently the City also added in a new ADA compliant sidewalk from the restrooms on the east side of the park to the stands for easier access for football fans.

This month the City broke ground at the top of Memorial hill where the bollards were located. With the help of the LOR Foundation the City will be putting in new curb, gutters and sidewalk along the top portion of the hill. Mike Campbell, Weiser City Public Works Director, shared that a long term goal for the park is to eventually have curb, gutter and sidewalk all the way around. Although this is a very long term goal and there are no future plans to add any more sidewalks to the park at this time, the City is very thankful for the LOR Foundation for helping with funding for this section.
