Sandra Mockwitz welcomed guests and introduced the Weiser Dog Park Committee, expressing gratitude to the Weiser River Animal Shelter and Rescue, the City of Weiser, and the LOR Foundation for making the park possible. The name Happy Tails was chosen by Meagan Nelson and her family. Instead of the traditional ribbon cutting, the park was officially opened with a special Leash Drop ceremony. Blake Coats from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Weiser also invited the community to attend the St. Francis Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 18th at noon, which will be held at Happy Tails Dog Park, located at 1110 East Park Street in Weiser, between the Soccer Complex and the Fire Department training site.
