Esther Cecelia (Servatius) Kyle, age 93, of Weiser, Idaho, entered eternal life with her heavenly Father on October 12, 2025, with family at her side.
Esther was born in Ontario, Oregon on April 9, 1932. She was the third child born of seven to Joseph and Rose Servatius. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. She was a true servant and stopped at nothing to help someone in need. She was one of the first members of the Helping Hands Committee, which provided meals for people recovering from surgeries or illness. She enjoyed baking cinnamon rolls and pineapple squares for coffee hour after mass. She attended Weiser High School until her junior year in 1950.
Esther married John (Jack) Kyle on June 19, 1950. Jack served in the United States Air Force which gave her the opportunity to live in Texas, England, California and Turkey. They had six children, Barbara, Jack, Don, Joyce, Linda and Doris. After his retirement in 1970, the family moved back to Weiser. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Servatius, husband, Jack, her daughters Joyce Petty and Doris Powell, her grandson, Joshua Powell, and four siblings. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Tom Gish of Ontario, Oregon, Jack and Karyn Kyle of Weiser, Idaho, Don Kyle and his partner Connie Peters of Fredericktown, Ohio, and Linda and Jim Hobbs of Meridian, Idaho, her sons-in-law David Petty and Patrick Powell, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews whom she loved unconditionally.
She enjoyed taking pictures, scrapbooking, camping, traveling, sewing, painting, liquid embroidery, canning, gardening and baking. Most of all, she loved family get togethers and lived by the saying “the more the merrier.”
Esther was extremely frugal although her generosity more than made up for it. She often used the phrase, “Waste not, want not.”
