Surviving Hearts, a volunteer organization dedicated to helping cancer patients and their families, donated $12,200 to the St. Luke’s Respite House project in Fruitland.
Funds were raised at the third annual Evening at the Willows event near Weiser. Funds benefit the Respite House, a comfortable “home away from home” for cancer patients seeking treatment at St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute in Fruitland.
The event was coordinated by a committee led by Shellie and Paul Colvard of Midvale.
Volunteers have raised nearly $500,000 for the Respite House project. Construction will begin when donations or pledges total $1 million.
The third annual event was sponsored by The Willows, St. Luke’s MSTI, Agri Beef Co., Big Sky, Starkey Spring Water, Living in the News and SS Photography and Design.
