CALDWELL, ID – In a sudden and unfortunate turn of events, the Annual Caldwell High School Homecoming Parade, originally scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024, has been cancelled. This decision was made in response to potential threats that have caused a significant disruption within the school environment.
In a statement released by the Caldwell School District, officials confirmed that while there is no evidence that these threats are credible, the decision was made out of an abundance of caution, prioritizing the safety of students, staff, and the broader Caldwell community.
“We are working closely with the Caldwell Police Department as we continue to investigate this threat,” the statement read, emphasizing that the safety and well-being of everyone involved are of the utmost importance.
While school will remain in session tomorrow, the district is offering parents and guardians the option to excuse their children from classes by contacting the school attendance office. The assembly will also not be hosted.
The Caldwell School District has also assured the community that they will take all necessary legal and disciplinary measures against those responsible for the disruption.
“We take all threats to student and staff safety seriously,” the statement added, encouraging students and parents to remain vigilant and to report any concerns to trusted adults.
The district hopes to reschedule the homecoming parade at a later date and appreciates the community’s understanding and continued support during this challenging time.
