Kylee Doughty completed the Employment Skills Leadership Development Event at Fruitland High School on Monday, March 1st. Lauren prepared a resume and cover letter, completed a job application, interview and follow up letter on sight, and was awarded the second place in the Western Idaho District. Kylee is a freshman at Cambridge High School and is enrolled in Intro to Agriculture and Vet Science classes.
Later in the week, our chapter held public speaking and floriculture events in Cambridge. Our floral team placed first out of Western Idaho District with team members consisting of Emma Hollon 1st Place, Shayna Landis, 3rd Place, Becca Chandler 4th Place, and Shelby Altman 9th place. Other Cambridge FFA members competing in this event included Abbey Uhbelouer, Zane Nichols, Russell Noah, Tyler Gressley, and Maddie Gerlock. 55 FFA members from Council, Cascade, Weiser, Parma, Emmett, New Plymouth, Homedale and Middleton completed the event. These members will also be competing at state floral CDE in June in Moscow.
We would like to give a special thanks to community members who helped judge the events in Cambridge. A special thanks to Nikki Vogel, Chris Braun, Katelyn Papineau, Seonaid Uebelhardt, Harvey Braun, and Mark Loveland. The event ran smoothly due to help from many Cambridge FFA members, Cambridge FFA officer team, Western Idaho District Officer Team, and the 7th grade ag class.
Overall, we are very proud to showcase these members for all of the hard work they have been putting in. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish at state CDEs. In addition, we are grateful towards our community for their constant support.
