These last few days have been so lovely. They have been warm but with very little wind. Spring has sprung at last, or for a few days. I understand there is supposed to be another cool down with possible rain this weekend. Then it’s back up to the high seventies again. Maybe I should have been a weather reporter.
I want to give you a quick outline of what is happening at the seniors in May. Our monthly board meeting is on Wednesday, May 14th, at 1:30 p.m. We’ll be able to convene as soon as the dishes are done after lunch. It’s an open meeting; anyone wanting to learn more about the Senior Center is welcome to attend.
Our Food Pantry will be held after lunch on Wednesday, May 21st. Seniors attending that day’s meal will be allowed to start at 1:30 p.m. The Pantry is open to the whole community at 2 p.m. If you arrive early, please wait in the exercise room at the back of the building. Chairs will be provided for you to sit and visit while waiting for your turn. In the Summer months, our cooling system will help you stay comfortable.
Our monthly shopping trip will leave the center around 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 22nd. Please call 208-257-3358 if you want to go as the trip fills up early.
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, we have a Chair Yoga Class at 10:30. The class is free. If you want to join us, come to the senior center’s exercise room in the back of the building by 10:30. Remember to wear comfortable clothes.
On Fridays, after lunch and dishes, we provide transportation to Council for people to do their banking and shopping. The trip is free for people over 60, and there is a nominal charge for people younger than 60. Call 208-257-3358 for more information.
Last, but not least, our monthly foot Clinic will be on Monday, May 26. Appointments are needed. Call 208-257-3358 to schedule yours.

Friday, May 9: Ham and Beans, Garden Salad, Corn Bread, Peaches, and Carrot Cake.
Wednesday, May 14: BBQ Pork, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans, Wheat Roll, Mixed Vegetables. Pears and Berry Crisp.
Friday, May 16: Sloppy Joes, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Mixed Fruit, and dessert.
This is a nuts-and-bolts column this week. “Facts, nothin’ but the facts, Ma’am”. The first one to tell me what TV show that phrase came from will get a free meal, compliments of the Senior Center. Call me at 208-257-3358. Good Luck!
