Our “Split the Pot” fundraiser is almost half over. You can still purchase tickets until August 31st. We will draw for the winner on Wednesday, September 3rd, after lunch. The winner will be notified by telephone if they aren’t present for the drawing. If the drawing were held today, one lucky person would walk away with $100.
Hopefully, we will have sold lots more tickets by the time of the drawing. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, be sure to come in before the deadline of August 31! You can’t win if you don’t play.
We want to thank the Commercial Club Community Grants program for the gift of $3,200, which will allow us to purchase another commercial freezer to replace the one in the pantry that has completely stopped working. Thank you, Commercial Club, for your generous grant! We appreciate you to the moon and back.
Our Food Pantry will be on Wednesday, August 20th, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Our Shopping trip to Ontario has been postponed to Thursday, August 28th. This is also the day of our BYOP (bring your own project). The group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
Our Foot Clinic is on Monday, August 25th, and appointments are needed. Call 208-257-3358 for more information.
We also have Chair Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am. I know it’s been spotty lately because I haven’t been participating due to back issues, but I fully intend to start again in September. Thank you, Jean Fant, for taking over for me when I couldn’t be there.

Wednesday, August 20th: Swedish Meat Balls, Rice, Peas, Garden Salad, Roll, Mandarin Oranges, and Cherry Cheese Cake.
Friday, August 22nd: Chicken Enchilada Casserole, Refried Beans, Garden Salad, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Salsa, Mandarin Oranges, and Dessert.
Wednesday, August 27th: Oven-Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Mixed Fruit, Corn, Coleslaw, Roll, and Carrot Cake.
I’m going to leave you with a short joke today:
My wife sent me a text that said, “your great.” With that I reply back, “No, You’re great.” Now she is going around all smiles and happy. I’m not sure if I should tell her that I was correcting her grammar or not.
Have a great week, everyone!
