Cambridge Senior Chatter

By Nate Estes

Here we are, almost to the end of February. We have one more  fundraiser: an “All-you-can-eat Baked Potato Bar.”  On Friday, February 28th, from 4 to 7 PM (There will not be a noon-time meal that day), we will serve Russet and Sweet Potatoes to delight your taste buds and all of the trimmings you expect: chili con carne, butter, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, bacon, green onions, olives, and jalapenos.

I hope you have marked your calendars and are planning on joining us.  The cost for the dinner is a $12 donation per person. Children 12 and under eat for $6, and those under five eat for free

Our next Bingo Game will be held on March 6th, from 6 to 8 PM.  All are welcome.  You don’t have to be a senior to play; pack up the kids and spouses and come to the Senior Center for a couple of hours of fun and frivolity.  The cost is $1 per card per game.  There will be a blackout game at the end. Join us,won’t you?

Chair Yoga has started. We meet at 10:30 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please wear clothing that will stretch as you move; we will provide you with a chair.  After a three-month hiatus, I was beginning to feel stiff and uncomfortable.  This is just what I needed to get me out of my winter slump.  It might just be the thing that gets you moving as well!  Join us!

You have probably received your Membership and dues statement by now. When you submit your dues by April 15, you will receive a free meal ticket that can be used anytime before December 31, 2025. The meal tickets can only be used for a regular noon meal. It can’t be used at any of our fundraisers.

Speaking about using the free meal ticket, here are some of our regular delicious meals that, if you had it in hand, you could drop in the money box.
