Cambridge Senior Chatter

By Nate Estes

My friend, Board Secretary, and all-around fix-it person, Lynda Yoder, stopped by after work. We chatted about our dead P.A. system and started looking for Karaoke systems online. Somehow, our conversation got around to whether our system was “nonfunctional”.

We decided to try again, and as luck would have it, Lynda plugged the microphone into a different speaker input, and I messed around with the levers in the front. Together, we found one combination that worked.  Now I no longer have to work so hard to project my voice. I can speak normally and people can hear.  It’s always a good day, when something unexpected works out.  Thanks Lynda!

I just read that tomorrow, Sunday, March 8th, is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. I don’t know why, but the date snuck up on me this year.   If you are a member and get my newspaper column ahead of time, turn your clocks up one hour before you go to bed or you will be late for Church tomorrow, or, is it early?  I wish “they” would leave the time alone.

I mentioned last week that we would have a PI (pie) sale next Friday. Well, we decided to cancel the event. As the old saying goes, “we got caught with our panties down” and ran out of time to get the advertising out. We have been a little disorganized lately.

We will have a Pie social in the near future, and next year, we will have a Pie sale on Pi Day.

I am looking for a driver for our van on Wednesday and Friday mornings. We need someone to pick up our seniors for lunch and return them home afterward.  I have several months to find a qualified person.  If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, please get in touch with me here at 208-257-3358.

     Menu

Wednesday, March 12:  Corned Beef and Cabbage, Carrots, potatoes, Biscuits, Green Salad, Apricots and Marbled Chocolate Bars.

Friday, March 14:  Macaroni and Cheese, Stewed Tomatoes, Bran Muffins, Green Salad, and Dessert.

Wednesday, March 19:  Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Peas, Pears, Garden Salad, Wheat roll, and Banana Bars.

That’s all I have for this week.  I hope everyone made it to church on time!
