I am Christina Stanley, and I am running for a seat on the Weiser City Council.
We have a unique opportunity this election. The opportunity to elect city council members who are just like you.
We have citizens of every generation, different social and economic circumstances, those who have lived here their entire lives, others who have lived here just a few years, those who are retired and others still working and building their lives. Weiser’s City Council should reflect those differences.
So many differences in our population can create challenges. The biggest challenge that I see is that we are a small town divided. There are those who have the desire for more houses, more businesses, more industry, and more activities for our young people while others want Weiser to remain the same. I do not see why we cannot have both.
Like you I see the potential for more of these things in Weiser, but I also see things that I want to remain unchanged in celebration of the rich history of Weiser. To accomplish both we need proper community input and thoughtful conversation. This is what I want to bring to the decision process of our city council.
The city council does a respectable job, but there is always room for improvement. I want to improve how the city council listens to you. When you want to be heard by the city council, I will be your voice. I will be the voice that creates debate, asks tough questions, and challenges the status quo. The voice that has spoken and listened to the public and is willing to bring your questions and concerns forward to the council.
I believe that being on the city council is not about me, it is about you and how I can get your message across so together, we can build a vibrant and exciting community with something for everyone. I welcome the opportunity to hear your voice. My office is at 536 State Street, Suite 3 right here in Weiser and my door is open to you.
Thank you in advance for your support and your vote.
