A week before Thanksgiving pipes burst, spraying cold water over the majority of the Weiser FFA’s plants in their nursery. This resulted in a complete loss of their Poinsettias, African Violets, Christmas Cactuses and house plants.
Calls were put out by community members about the deviation and in Weiser tradition, many picked up the call for help. Bonnie Akbar owner and operator of Artful Bon’s offered to host a paint night to help out the students. Trish Roberts and Lynette Roberts asked about donations of house plants, cuttings and Poinsettias. Pictured are some of the community’s plant donations and Poinsettias to help replace what was lost.

On the Weiser FFA’s Facebook post they thanked the community for their offerings and help, “It has been truly overwhelming! Words cannot express how thankful we are to be in such a supportive community! Thank you to Edwards Greenhouse in Boise, Lynette and Brent Roberts for the Poinsettias, and Trish Robert for calling and gathering houseplants for us to propagate. Our greenhouse looks like a greenhouse again!”
