At approximately 4:30 pm today, a fire broke out in the construction dumpster located at the Zions Bank parking lot in Weiser.
Thanks to the swift response of the Weiser Fire District the situation was promptly contained and extinguished. During the firefighting operation, the responders identified the source of the fire to possibly be cleaning rags with solvent that had spontaneously combusted in the heat of the day. The combination of heat and chemical reactions caused the ignition, leading to the fire.
Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies were also on scene, keeping the area safe from any onlookers and ensuring the safety of the scene as the Fire Fighters did their job.
