Controlled Burn Gets Out Of Control And Threatens Vacant Home

A controlled burn spread to nearby grass, trees, and brush today north of Weiser. Property owners were cleaning up brush when the fire spread to a neighbor’s property. A vacant home and outbuildings were nearly lost in the fire. Old farm equipment in the area also became involved in the fire. Approximately 3 acres of pasture also burned. Weiser Rural Fire District, Washington County Sheriffs Office and Midvale Fire Department responded to the blaze. 2 Structure engines, 3 Water tenders. 3 Brush engines, a command vehicle and a Washington County Sheriffs Deputy responded to the fire.
