Delbert V. Barnett, 95, of Canton, passed away, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Clayberg in Cuba.
He was born in Arkansas City, Kansas, on January 23, 1930, to Charles “Pete” and Ollie “Bobbi” (Howell) Barnett. They preceded him in death as well as two brothers, Jay and Tracey Barnett.
Delbert married Naomi (Dalzell) Barnett on April 3, 1956, in Los Angeles California. They shared 61 years of marriage before she passed away on December 22, 2017.
Delbert is survived by his daughter Karen (Kevin) Klinedinst of Lewistown.
He is a Veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1953. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University.
Delbert owned and operated Jayhawk Restaurant in Weiser Idaho for many years. He retired in 1995 as a chef for the workers on oil rigs in Alaska. He previously attended First Baptist Church in Canton, and enjoyed tending to his garden.
A graveside service with Military Honor’s will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
