Flock Cancer Idaho is a nonprofit organization that promotes breast cancer awareness and provides support and financial aid to other nonprofits, cancer patients, and survivors. Each year, the Flock Cancer Street Stroll is an event where people get together to celebrate breast cancer survivors, raise money, and have a great time on the historic Harrison Boulevard in Boise, Idaho. The event features live music, food trucks, folks dressed up in fun gear, and the Saint Alphonsus Mobile Mammogram Bus.
A group of volunteers, board members, and two special cancer patients from Angel Wings Network, Inc in Weiser, attended this year’s Flock Cancer Street Stroll back in May 2023. Founder of Flock Cancer Idaho, Leslie Scantling, had been in touch with Mabel Dobbs, executive director of Angel Wings, to share the exciting news that this year’s street stroll fundraiser proceeds would be shared with Angel Wings Network, Inc.
On June 30th, 2023, Flock Cancer Idaho presented Angel Wings Network with a check for $25,000! Board member Eleonore Huggins, volunteer and cancer survivor Trine Loenberg, and director Mabel Dobbs accepted the generous donation on behalf of Angel Wings. Dobbs shared this to social media: “Thank you Leslie Scantling, your family, and Flock Cancer Team. This money will help us expand and better serve folks battling cancer in our rural communities.”
