Thursday, December 5th the Fruitland Chamber of Commerce held their annual tree lighting and Christmas on Main Street event. Community members gathered in the park where mother nature had left frost covering trees, bushes and grass adding to the holiday spirit. Those in attendance were treated to the high school band playing Christmas tunes and a children’s choir. After the lighting of the Peace Candle and community Christmas tree, folks were encouraged to visit local participating businesses where they could get their “passports” stamped for chances to win prizes. Special guests Santa, the Grinch and Buddy the Elf were there as well.
