Jr. Tech Night 1.0 Sparks Enthusiasm for STEM Education at Modern Auto

On Thursday afternoon (February 29th, 2024) Modern Auto played host to an exciting evening of hands-on exploration and learning at Jr. Tech Night 1.0, where children and parents alike immersed themselves in the world of automotive mechanics. The event offered a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the expertise of Modern Auto’s highly trained technicians, along with the warmth of their customer support and the cutting-edge facilities they operate in.

Families were greeted with an array of interactive displays and activities, facilitated by the enthusiastic Modern Auto team, which also included Drew Barnes and the students from Vale High School – Auto Tech, whose assistance at this event and provision of various displays enriched the experience for all attendees.

From wielding wrenches to peering beneath cars, the children reveled in the chance to explore and understand the inner workings of an automotive shop. You could see their enthusiasm as they engaged with the various aspects of the trade.

Adding an element of friendly competition to the evening were three timed contests: the Lego car race, the spark plug race, and the bolt matching race. These challenges not only entertained but also encouraged kids and families working together using problem-solving skills to support the young participants.

Beyond the excitement of the competitions, Jr. Tech Night 1.0 also served as a platform to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. By providing a fun and immersive experience, events like these play a crucial role in inspiring the next generation of technicians and engineers.

As the event concluded, there was a sense of accomplishment and excitement among both organizers and participants. Jr. Tech Night 1.0 succeeded not only in entertaining but also in fostering a deeper appreciation for the world of automotive mechanics. Congratulations are in order for everyone involved in bringing this inspiring event to fruition.
