It was a very interesting week at the State Capital this last week. The Joint Finance Appropriations Committee is the committee that puts the budgets for the State together. This year they decided to split the budget into two parts. One part is the “maintenance” part, that part that keeps the State operating. The other part is the things that are new requests. This move makes it easier to see what is being paid for and can be more easily debated on the floor of the House and Senate. There was a lot of maneuvering to not do this. The point of my writing this article is we need to be grateful in District 9 that that represent us, Judy Boyle, Jacyn Gallagher and Senator Abby Lee all voted in favor of the new budgeting process. It will be better for the citizens of the State and will help keep our State budget from growing in unnecessary ways. A BIG Thank You goes out to them.
Another big thank you that needs to go out is to Representative Jacyn Gallagher. She was awarded the “Conservative Excellence Award” by the Conservative Political Action Coalition Foundation (CPAC). Their ratings have to do with how well the Representatives and Senators hold to the Constitutional principles and conservative values. This is an election year. Those that are running need to be watched carefully, especially those that are all ready in office. The good thing about them is they have a record of how they voted. Check the records. Our two Representatives have voted in favor of the citizens of legislative district 9 which they represent. Let’s get out to vote, show up, be a part of the process to protect our freedom. Check the Sunshine reports for Idaho, see who is funding their campaigns, it tells you a lot about who they are working for. Let’s talk to our neighbors and friends, encourage them to vote for Judy and Jacyn. They are both good Representatives.
