Lately we have been hearing a lot of opinions and conjecture on the status of the county Planning and Zoning. This nine member commission is appointed by the County Commissioners for approximately 4 year terms. All meetings are public and open for the public to attend or ask questions. The 9-person commission is charged by the commissioners to review, research and discuss the presented items for changes to the county and its codes. They donate time and energy to do what is in the best interest of the County to maintain the quality of life we have either moved here for or enjoyed our whole lives.
I write today to inform the community of an upcoming training on Wed. July 14 th at 7pm in the Commissioners room of the courthouse. This information is regularly listed on the website and located in the courthouse buildings for regular attendance. This meeting has been organized for commission members as well as anyone that wants to attend to add to people’s knowledge base so there can hopefully be less conflict with discussion and respect for different viewpoints.
All are welcome to attend. Civic responsibility is for everyone. We cannot maintain our quality of life with just a few people alone. Let’s work together to keep Washington County great!
