I’ve read several letters promoting Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) in November, and I can no longer stay silent because Prop 1 is a SCAM!
Ranked choice voting goes against everything for which America stands. Americans have always voted for the candidate who they wish to see in office. They weigh the candidate’s integrity, their drive, their knowledge base, and their overall fitness for the desired position for which they are running.
RCV eliminates the basic principles of voting by FORCING voters to “rank” and vote for those whose values they may actually abhor. In a race with three or four candidates, you MUST put each in order and it is highly likely that the winner could be the least qualified, most integrity-deficient candidate, and just plain bad for the job. Yet, if you do not rank ALL candidates, your ballot is “trashed.” Your vote does NOT count.
There are also Millions of TAX DOLLARS required to alter the election system in Idaho for this to work. This is because computer algorithms are used in RCV elections. Do you really want a computer deciding who wins an election?
Vote NO on PROP 1 — Do Not fall for the SCAM.
