I would like to bring to your attention proposed code changes that are going to be heard at a planning and zoning hearing on November 17 th . We commissioners
have been working with the planning and zoning and have been discussing
changes that need to be made to the code for several years. The changes affect
several different places in the code. There are 29 or so pages that have a change
on the page. I would encourage everyone concerned to request a copy of the
proposed changes and read them. These changes are proposed to correct
contradictions in the code and make it more transparent and easier to
understand. We have been working with planning and zoning for years trying to
get the ordinances clarified. State code provides public input through the hearing
process and that is what the hearing is for. It will give the citizens of the county
the opportunity to give their suggestions and ways to improve and update our
codes in the proposed areas. Please take the time to read and learn about the
