On the afternoon of July 27th, a brush fire was reported along Interstate 84 near Jacobsen Gulch (The Skyline Fire). The fire was burning outside of the Ontario Rural Fire Protection District. BLM responded with resources and was able to create a perimeter around the fire, which is estimated at 38.5 acres. OFR monitored the fire and at around 6:00 PM, due to BLM having to leave the scene to respond to additional fires, OFR committed one engine, one UTV, and a command vehicle to assist with mopping up the eastern portion of the fire perimeter. OFR completed the mop up around 9:00 PM. Representatives from Green Ontario III LLC were on scene to watch the fire area overnight. There were no injuries reported.
