Payette Students Bring Community Spirit to Serve Day 2025

Excitement buzzed as students from Payette High School and the Payette Academy gathered at Kiwanis Park, Library Park, and the Green Belt to participate in Serve Day. This community event, held every year on the last Saturday in April, saw local youth pitching in to give back to the area that supports them in countless ways. The Thursday before Serve Day, (April 24th, 2025) the students traded their textbooks for tools, diving into a variety of projects designed to enhance their community. From picking up litter to trimming the roses at the library, the day was filled with collaboration and school spirit. Most of the students felt that this was a great way to contribute and see the difference that they made together, embracing the opportunity to support local parks and public spaces. In addition to litter pickup, student volunteers painted the skatepark, picnic tables, and slides, bringing vibrant colors back to the community. Others placed fresh bark around trees and flower beds, lending a helping hand to beautify local green spaces. There was a lot of enthusiasm, not just because they were taking a break from class, but because they were uniting for a common goal. These students enjoyed the community service, showcasing the students’ commitment to making Payette a better place for everyone. The adult leaders mentioned that they were proud of the students for stepping up and showing what it means to give back.
