The kindergarten classes from Pioneer Elementary ventured to the Weiser Fire District Station on Wednesday, October 16th. This field trip aimed to provide young students with valuable lessons about fire safety while giving them an inside look at the vital work firefighters do.
The first group of eager learners, guided by teachers Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Cardenas, and Ms. Cole’s substitute teachers, Mrs. Davies and Mrs. Barnett, embarked on this adventure. The second group, who enjoyed the same experience, included classes from Mrs. Hernandez and Miss Mills.
Upon arrival, the children were greeted warmly by the firefighters, who wasted no time in sharing their knowledge and passion for fire safety. In addition to seeing the trucks, the children learned critical fire safety tips.
This trip is not only educational, but it also helps build a connection between children and community safety personnel. The students are excited to learn about fire safety while interacting with our local heroes.
As the young students returned to school, the hope is that they carry not only memories of their time at the fire station but also newfound knowledge that could one day keep them safe.
A few times a year, Weiser Fire District and Law Enforcement will come and serve lunch to the students at Pioneer Elementary.
These interactions with the children will continues to foster learning experiences that connect students with their community, ensuring that the lessons learned today last a lifetime.
