Washington County, ID — July 17, 2025 The Washington County Fair Board is pleased to announce that longtime residents Roy and Linda Mink have been selected as the 2025 Grand Marshals for this year’s Fair and Rodeo. Their decades of service, dedication to ranching, and commitment to their community have made a lasting impact throughout the county.
Roy Mink began his life of service in the U.S. Army, where he completed Officer Candidate School and spent two years in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant in charge of convoy operations. After returning to Idaho, Roy continued giving back—serving as a county commissioner, a member of the Southwest District Health Board, and actively participating on both the fair and rodeo boards. A proud legacy rancher, Roy has helped carry on his family’s multi-generational cattle operation along Pine Creek and through the Cambridge Valley. He’s also fondly remembered by many for the time he spent driving the high school sports team bus, showing up not just as a driver, but as a supporter of local youth.
Linda Mink has been a cornerstone of youth leadership in the area for more than 25 years through her work in 4-H. She helped found the Idaho State 4-H Leaders Council and led the Hells Canyon Backpack program for over three decades, giving young people the chance to grow through outdoor experiences and adventure. Linda is also one of only two women to have held a Limited Master Captain (LMT) license on the Snake River—a rare and impressive accomplishment. In addition to her many leadership roles, she brought fun and creativity to the Washington County Parade as a longtime member of the Hitt Mountain Hillbillies, a group known for their playful spirit and community pride.
Together, Roy and Linda raised seven sons on their family ranch, with all of them graduating from Cambridge High School. Now married for over 52 years, they spend winters in Salome, Arizona, but their hearts and roots remain firmly planted in Washington County.

“Roy and Linda truly embody the values our fair and community were built on,” said a Fair Board representative. “Their work, their kindness, and their example over the years have touched so many lives.” Be sure to cheer them on as they lead the 2025 Washington County Fair and Rodeo Parade—and join us in celebrating their outstanding contributions throughout this year’s fair events.
