Tuesday, November 19, 2024 Second grade students from Weiser’s Pioneer School and Second graders from Annex Charter School were invited to the Weiser Festival of Trees. While visiting the festival students got to write letters to Santa, listen to musical performers, sing Christmas Carols, view the trees, as well as have hot cocoa and cookies from the Lady Lions.
New this year, all children in attendance got to vote on the tree they liked the most for this year’s 2024 Children’s Choice Award. It was a close call between a few trees but one tree sparked the most delight from the children who attended. This year’s 2024 Children’s Choice Award is Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice! The winning tree is presented by Tim Atwood, Kodie Hammons, and Angela Powell. The tree was designed by Kodie Hammons and Angela Powell.
Before the children left the festival they were overjoyed when a special Jolly ol’ man arrived to wish them all a Merry Christmas. The students sang “It’s Christmas Time in Weiser” to St. Nick before heading out the door receiving hugs and candy canes.
