With the 12th Annual Walk/Run Fundraiser Event under their belts, Executive Director Mabel Dobbs and the Board of Directors are excited to announce that the fundraiser goal for this year has been met! The goal of raising $25,000 was surpassed! A grand total of $27,000 was raised!!!
Dobbs and the Board of Directors wish to thank all the supporters who donated to this event! Without your support, they couldn’t have reached their fundraising goals. Thank you to the volunteers who spent countless hours planning, preparing, setting up, breaking down, and running the show! Volunteers are the most essential piece to the work that they do. Thank you to the businesses who donated this year as well. Sponsor posters were up at the event to share their appreciation.
Angel Wings saw one of their biggest turnouts for this event with about 175 walkers / runners participating! It was a fantastic sight to see so many people gathered for a great cause. Thank you to everyone who made it out in their cancer awareness gear, running shoes, and giving hearts. There were some incredible costumes, dressed up pets, and big teams who came to support.
A special thank you to the vendors who spent their morning at the park. Lyon Crafting, Finding Feathers, Jennifer Green, Roosters, Like Mother Like Daughter, CASPR, Mary Kramer from U of I extension, Be the Match, COPS, Canyon Honey, and Weiser River Animal Shelter & Rescue. Each vendor presented a giveaway at their booth.
With the money raised, Angel Wings Network volunteers will be able to continue giving free service, support, and resources to local area cancer patients. Angel Wings serves within a 70-mile radius of Weiser. Every quarter, they publish a report detailing major highlights of the quarter for anyone to view.
