The Weiser Community Church recently donated to The Boys & Girls Club of the Western Treasure Valley. The Weiser Community Church used funds raised from the 70th Annual Groundhog Feed.
The Boys & Girls Club is expanding to Weiser in the future, they are planning on occupying the Billings Gym (The Old Institute), but the building will take a lot of work to be safe and ready for the children. They are looking for a temporary location for their program, with a flexible goal of opening at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
The Boys & Girls Club’s mission is to help our youth reach their full potential by offering educational, recreational, and social activities that promote positive character development, academic success, and healthy lifestyles, but most importantly, a center for our youth to reach their full potential while having fun doing it!
The Boys & Girls Club in Payette’s employee, Veronica Ortiz-Griffin, said, “This is awesome! We are super stoked about being able to give kids in the community a safe and fun place to go!”
The donation received from the Weiser Community Church, and all future donations will go towards the first year of operating expenses unless there is a donation specific to repairing/remodeling the building.
