The Harmon Killebrew Miracle League of Payette received a home run of support recently when local Jacksons/Extra Mile managers volunteered their time and donated pizza for the young athletes. The generous gesture highlights the growing community support for Idaho’s only Miracle League field.
The local Jacksons team rolled up their sleeves and got involved, with managers from the local stores volunteering directly with the Miracle League to help ensure every child with special needs could enjoy their time on the baseball field. Their hands-on approach demonstrates the kind of community spirit that makes small-town Idaho special.

While the pizza donation was certainly a hit with the young players, the real value came from the volunteers’ time and energy. Having additional helpers on the field means more one-on-one attention for each athlete, creating a better experience for everyone involved. The managers joined the regular roster of volunteer “buddies” who assist players during games.

This act of community support from Jacksons represents exactly what Harmon Killebrew envisioned when his foundation helped establish the field. Local businesses supporting local kids creates the kind of community bonds that make a difference far beyond game day. The Miracle League continues to welcome volunteers and community partners who want to help ensure every child gets their chance to experience the joy of baseball. Thanks to supporters like Jacksons, that mission becomes a little easier to achieve with each volunteer.
