Both the City of Weiser and Washington County have openings on their historic preservation commissions. These positions are strictly volunteer with the Weiser commission reporting to the Weiser City Council and the county commission reporting to the County Commissioners.
Each commission is involved in projects to help preserve the historic treasures we have in both Weiser and the county. A professional background in history or a related field is preferred, but an interest in historic preservation is acceptable for both openings.
The two commissions meet together on the first Monday of January, April, July and October at 4:00 p.m. in the basement of the courthouse. If projects dictate, they may choose to meet more frequently.
If you are interested in applying for one of these positions, please call or text Tony Edmondson at 208-550-7797.
